Martha Dage, COVE high school Spanish teacher, became a fluent Spanish speaker as an adult when she lived in Latin America for 5 years. After returning to the United States, she lived for 24 years in Southwest Detroit where she continued to be immersed in Spanish language and culture. She also taught Spanish to middle school students at Friends School in Detroit for 10 years. She has taught English as a Second Language to adults (many native Spanish speakers) for 11 years at Southwest Solutions, Detroit Public Schools Adult Education and Schoolcraft College. She is grateful for the opportunity to teach at COVE.
